Teaching the Taboo: A Conversation with co-authors Rick Ayers and Bill Ayers 

Join the USF School of Education, Teachers 4 Social Justice, Mills College School of Education and Bay Area NAME  for a discussion about USF faculty member Rick Ayers' book, Teaching the Taboo.

At the presentation, co-authors Rick and Bill Ayers will discuss the importance of courage and imagination in the work of teachers today. Through exploring the purposes of education and transformative demands of communities, the discussion will strategize the way forward for critical education.  

Event attendees will have the opportunity to connect with Bay Area teachers and USF faculty, students and alumni interested in teaching, learning and social justice.

Directions and Free Parking Information: 
How to find the Maraschi room in Fromm Hall:
- Fromm Hall is located at the corner of Parker Ave. and Golden Gate Ave. (See map) 
- The event will take place in Maraschi Room inside Fromm Hall. Please follow signs when you arrive at Fromm Hall.

- There will be reserved free parking in the Koret parking structure located on the southwest corner of Turk Street and Parker Avenue. There are two lots with separate entrances: the upper lot is accessed via Parker Avenue. The lower lot is accessed via Turk Street. Please park in designated area only (indicated by signs at parking structure). Parking outside of designated area may result in a parking citation. Parking is limited - carpooling is encouraged.
- There is also some street parking in the neighborhood.
