In this presentation which includes a short documentary, Carlos Karamanian (El Negro) will talk about his work with inmates from the Borda the most important psychiatric institution in Buenos Aires, Argentina. For four years El Negro worked with inmates from the Borda teaching them how to express aspects of their inner life and their understanding of the world through photography. Every year Carlos curated an exhibit of the Borda photographers in the renowned gallery of the Recoleta Center in Buenos Aires.

Carlos Karamanian is a professional Argentine photographer. He lives in Buenos Aires and has come to USF to work with students from Prof. Pedro Lange Churión’s class as they prepare an exhibit of their own photo-essays.
