According to the American College Health Association, the number-one health impediment to academic performance is stress. Health Promotion Services staff plans a Stress Less Day event every Fall semester.
The 2.5 hour event allows USF students to take some time out of their busy schedules to relax and enjoy the day by partaking in activities such as coloring, playing with puppies, enjoying healthy snacks, and receiving free massages and mini-manicures. In addition a number of campus departments such as Koret Health and Recreation Center, Learning & Writing Center, Library, and Counseling and Psychological Services participate in the event to highlight available USF resources for students to cope with stress in effective ways.
