Join faculty from across USF and community partners representing service organizations around the Bay Area for a two-day intensive seminar on Graduate-Level Community-Engaged Learning** (see
). The seminar is designed to both infuse community-engaged philosophies and practices into courses and meet genuine community-identified needs. Within this creative, supportive, and diverse group, participants will:
Explore the concept of community
Create working definitions of community engagement and related pedagogies
Discover how community engagement can enhance student learning and advance USF’s mission
Learn about and contribute to best practices in developing and maintaining community partnerships
Explore practical tools and frameworks for assessment and reflection
Develop community-engaged project ideas with potential community partners
Novice to experienced community-engaged educators and community partners
REGISTRATION FORM MUST BE SUBMITTED BY WEDNESDAY, NOV. 27.
The first 30 registrants will receive one of three books on community engagement.
