Community Design Outreach – ARCD 400SL Fall Projects Exhibition

Tuesday, December 10, 2013
10am-1pm, Lo Schiavo Center, CSI 104 – Family Room

Come see this fall’s senior architecture studio exhibition of local and international outreach projects. Working with community partners in underserved parts of the Bay Area and around the world, USF teams have designed a wide range of real projects, some of which are scheduled to begin construction in spring and summer 2014. Projects include community posting boards and an Asian-themed garden in Bayview-Hunter’s Point, an outdoor classroom for cooking and gardening at a San Francisco elementary school, a Head Start pre-school for the Pinoleville Pomo Nation in Ukiah, camp improvements for a seeing impaired children’s retreat in Napa County, a K-12 school in rural Haiti, a 47-acre urban planning project near Port au Prince, Haiti, a pig farm in Nicaragua, an organic tea processing center in Nepal, a leadership center for the Maasai of northern Tanzania, and a girls orphanage near Casablanca, Morocco.
