You are invited to an intimate discussion with Coco Ramazani, a survivor of extreme sexual violence as a result of the conflict in the northeastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Coco recently decided to break the silence about all she has endured with the publishing of her story in Tell This to My Mother by Joseph Mwantuali. She will launch her first speaking tour this month in California as part of CongoSwim, a collective action to raise support for Congolese groups receiving grants from Global Fund for Women and Friends of the Congo.

CongoSwim is in observance of the United Nation Women’s global call to take action on August 25 to help end sexual violence in conflict.

Sponsored by African Studies, Modern and Classical Languages, and B.A. in International Studies
