"The Role of Identity in the Development of Culturally
Competent HIV Prevention Interventions"
Psych Close-Up is the idea of Dr. Mel Joseph Ciena and is intended as a Get to know your Psychology faculty from a Personal, Academic and Research presentation. We are now on our 10th presentation (about 1 or 2 per semester). We have had standing room only at all presentations. We have had presentations from Dr. Shirley McGuire, Dr. Saera Khan, Dr Violet Cheung , Dr Ed Munnich Dr. Colin Silverthorne, Dr. John Perez, Dr. Kevin Chun, Fr. Sonny Manual SJ, Dr. Jerry Boucher and this upcoming Nov 16th Dr. Ja'Nina Walker I plan to have all Psychology faculty present at the Psych Close-Up and have plans for some adjunct faculty as well. When all Psychology Faculty have presented, we will start at the beginning again as we will have new students. The Psych Close-Up is also attended by Faculty and has generated interest in other departments as well. I plan to have it as an ongoing event.
For more information, please contact the Psychology Department at x6151.
