Finding Ireland:
A Poet's Exploration of Irish Literature and Culture
In this presentation, renowned poet and essayist, Richard Tillinghast, will read poems about his travels and extended residence in Ireland. Along with his poems, Tillinghast will share passages from his award-winning book, "Finding Ireland: A Poet's Exploration of Irish Literature and Culture," which contextualizes his unique role as an American poet living in Ireland and sharing in its long tradition of important writing. Reflecting on the country's rich history, Tillinghast will show how Ireland—its geography, traditions, and values--has served as inspiration for himself and many other writers.
