San Francisco Unified School District's Board of Education recently passed legislation that promotes alternatives to suspension from school.  Part of this measure would ban "willful defiance" as a basis for suspension.  This 411 will look at the question of willful defiance: What is willful defiance?  What are the root causes of willful defiance? How can we create safe classrooms and schools?  Join us to look deeper at the complex issue of discipline and behavior in schools.

Panelists:
Dr. Christine Yeh, Professor of Counseling Psychology, University of San Francisco
Dr. Darrick Smith, Professor of Leadership Studies in Education, University of San Francisco
Jeremiah Jeffries, 1st grade teacher, San Francisco Unified School District
Youth representative from June Jordan School for Equity, SFUSD
