This is the second installment in our series of group discussions exploring women’s leadership and gender diversity issues. Participants from last semester’s Lean In group highly recommended the next book for our continuing conversations: Daring Greatly by Dr. Brené Brown. It is widely held that the most successful and influential leaders lead “from the inside out.” In this same spirit, Dr. Brown encourages us to embrace our vulnerabilities and imperfections, to live wholeheartedly and to courageously engage in our lives. Based on twelve years of research, Dr. Brown contends that vulnerability is not weakness, but rather our clearest path to courage, engagement and meaningful connection.
