Guest speaker Michael Santos, a prison reform activist, will give his
impressions of the United States prison system after having served a
25 year sentence. Santos was sentenced to 45 years in prison in 1987,
at the age of 23. He was the first and only prisoner in history to
gradually earned his way from a maximum security cell block to a
fenceless camp. While in prison, he was married, divorced, earned a
college degree, and published several books. Food will be served. Contact: kjneddenriep@usfca.edu
